An immense tribute to Céline Dion as she prepares to celebrate 30 years of success!

A 100-metre replica of the Titanic on hand at Lac des Dauphins to mark this unique occasion

Montréal, Wednesday, July 7, 2010 – Over 300,000 spectators, thousands of fireworks shells, twenty-three megahits and, even, a 100-metre replica of the Titanic – all stops have been pulled at La Ronde to celebrate the music and exceptional career of the one and only Céline Dion. It’s all part of the first ever “Feu des étoiles” by L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS, an impressive annual addition to the world’s most prestigious pyromusical competition.

Starting at 10 PM of July 10, spectators can enjoy nearly 30 years of music hits by Céline Dion, all the way from “Ce n’était qu’un rêve” to “Ne partez pas sans moi” and including “My Heart Will Go On,” “All by Myself” and “L’amour existe encore.” The show features six different themes that chart the singer’s stellar career: “Et que ça bouge!,” “Au cinéma,” “Jeunesse et innocence,” “… Et Goldman,” “Diva à Vegas” and, finally, “Intense et universelle.” The team at L’International et La Ronde made the musical selections and designed the show.

Groupe Fiatlux-Ampleman, a new firm resulting from the recent merger of two major Quebec companies, is the delegate producer for the show’s fireworks component. Together, these two companies have taken part in almost 20 competitions at L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS, winning a total of 4 Jupiters. Groupe Fiatlux-Ampleman also made a name for itself at the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver by putting on colourful fireworks shows on 17 evenings. According to Éric Cardinal, the designer of “Feu des étoiles,” Céline Dion’s songs – which are vibrant and high-energy – are perfect for a fireworks show. “Feu des étoiles,” he says, “provides us with a range of possibilities and pyrotechnical effects. With this vigorous and lively music, we can produce vigorous and lively fireworks.”

A list of the 23 songs from the show’s soundtrack is available at L’International’s web site at (www.internationaldesfeuxlotoquebec.com). Also on the site are the latest “Fireworks Confessions.”
