Italy at L’international des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS this week:

The Vatican’s official supplier of fireworks at La Ronde this Wednesday

Montréal, Tuesday, July 12, 2011 – The firm that puts on fireworks shows at the Vatican will be at La Ronde on Wednesday, July 13 to wow Montrealers as part of L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS, in collaboration with the SAQ.

In its show titled “Angels and Demons,” Pirotecnica Morsani SRL of Italy depicts the eternal battle between good and evil. Divided into four acts, the performance relates the epic struggle between angels and demons to preside over the world. Every act features its own soundtrack and distinctive fireworks displays – some of which were created specifically for “Angels and Demons.” The show is truly an ode to life and happiness. Above all, it is a message of hope and peace for future generations.

Pirotecnica Morsani SRL is a century-old, tradition-rich family business. It was founded in 1880 by Reginaldo Morsani, grandfather of Telesforo Morsani, the company’s current director. Pirotecnica Morsani SRL is also a leading fireworks manufacturer. In fact, nearly 80% of the materials that will be used on Wednesday were produced at its factories. This is the second appearance in Montréal for this company based in Rieti, a small city located 80 kilometres from Rome.

The 14 titles in the soundtrack are listed on L’International’s web site at www.internationaldesfeuxloto-quebec.com.

A popular jury and plenty of stars!

Following a selection process that was open to the public, nineteen fireworks enthusiasts were chosen to form this year’s jury. These individuals are charged with the enviable but important task of attending all of the fireworks presentations at La Ronde, evaluating the performances of each competing firm, and ranking the eight countries that are represented.

For the first time ever, well-known personalities have agreed to join the jury for one evening. Their decision will be featured on video and broadcast on the web at www.internationaldesfeuxlotoquebec.com on the day following a fireworks show. This week, the well-known participant is writer India Desjardins.

The choix du public TELUS (The Public’s Choice) returns

This year’s spectators will again have their say, as the world’s most prestigious light and music show invites the public to vote online! Participants, in addition to seeking out the approval of the judges who award Gold, Silver and Bronze Jupiter trophies, will now attempt to win over the public and earn a truly special prize! After each of this year’s performances, spectators can visit www.internationaldesfeuxloto-quebec.com and provide their opinion, by giving the show a score between 1 and 10. Site visitors will also be able to view a clip of the show and even share their experience with their Facebook friends.
