FOR THEIR FIRST TIME AT LE MONDIAL SAQ, CIENFUEGOS
CELEBRATES ARGENTINA'S INDEPENDENCE DAY IN THE SKIES OVER
MONTREAL

Montréal, July 8, 2003

On Wednesday, July 9, Montrealers will have the opportunity
to marvel at the talents of the master pyrotechnicians from the Argentinean company
Cienfuegos. Southern Contrasts, a dazzling Latin-American pyromusical spectacle, will
be launched on Argentina's Independence Day.

"Southern Contrasts is a tribute to Latin-Americans, their traditions and their history.
Through 17 movements, the audience will be taken through a series of pyrotechnical
effects that will stir a great number of contradictory emotions reflective of the people of
the south: joy and sadness, frivolity and deep thought, calm and fury," stated Luis Oscar
Borca, company president and creator of the Montréal show.

More than half of the pieces to be used in Wednesday's show were produced in the
Cienfuegos factories in Argentina and Brazil. About 30% of those were created
especially for the Southern Contrasts presentation. The rest of the pieces were imported
from Europe and China.

The show begins in a whirlwind with an imposing sequence of fire representing the
violence of the continent's discovery, perfectly synchronized with music from Conquest
of Paradise by Vangelis. The musical itinerary for this beautiful South American
adventure will also include works that are typical of the southern continent: the original
tango, compositions by Piazzolla, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente and pieces by the Buenos
Aires Philharmonic Orchestra.

Founded more than twenty years ago, Cienfuegos is dedicated to the production of
traditional and pyromusical fireworks shows, to the manufacturing, exporting, importing
and marketing of professional pyrotechnical pieces, as well as regular fireworks.

The company is also renowned for the quality of its pyrotechnical safety courses. In
recent years, the company has also specialized in producing pyrotechnical effects for the
cinema.
