It says that 2 tow trucks are now on the Jacques-Cartier bridge to prevent a criminal incident. http://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/montreal/201607/28/01-5005499-securi te-sur-le-pont-jacques-cartier-la-sq-tire-des-lecons-de-nice.php |

Posted: Jul 29, 2016 17:18:28 I don't want to sound flippant, but with the state of Montreal's roads and all the closures due to construction, any potential truck killer would not be able to get more than half a block. It's good the SQ are taking these precautions, but it's sad to think that they have to in case some deranged person emulates the Nice attack. We're very fortunate that we can have up to half a million people on the streets watching the fireworks, year after year with hardly any incidents at all. Paul. |

Posted: Aug 3, 2016 00:39:30 I just realized that the Nice attack has caused the cancellation of Pyroemotions (Italy) at the Cannes fireworks festival scheduled on July 21st. http://www.festival-pyrotechnique-cannes.com/fr/prix-du-public In Monaco, the whole 2016 edition has been cancelled. http://www.monaco-feuxdartifice.mc Fred |
