As fireworks are launched around the world to highlight the beginning of 2012 (including the famous Australian show supervised by Fortunato Foti in Sydney), I watched online "Fantasy in the Sky", the New Year fireworks produced by Disney World at Magic Kingdom. Actually, that is a 360-degree perimeter fireworks, with launching position all around the park:

For those familiar with the location, I suspect the video was recorded from the Polynesian Resort's beach, with the Castle in the centre of the screen, the Grand Floridian Resort on the left and the Contemporary Resort on the right. I bring your attention at 8:25, as the countdown is drawn in the sky with number-shape shells.

Wow! Thanks Vander for this entertaining video!

Below is a link to another show displayed at Disney World last night, the New Year edition of Epcot's Reflections of Earth (is it the origin of your nickname?). Once again, it is a perimeter show with a very special design. While Reflections of Earth is produced daily with fireworks launched from floating platforms in the centre of Epcot's World Showcase lagoon (with the audience all around the lake), this special edition includes additional firing positions located behind 11 national pavilions. Before the countdown, fireworks are fired from these positions as these countries turned the New Year (Japan, then China, then Norway/Germany/Italy/France, then UK/Morocco, then Mexico/Canada/USA). Interestingly, as fireworks are launched from the English pavilion (from 5:00 to 5:30), we can see another pyrotechnic display, presumably from Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park:

That is funny! While Disney's fireworks lack of density in my opinion, the storyline, the music and the geodesic screen in Reflections of Earth, in addition to the general atmosphere of World Showcase, make this show a great one. And it is even better with a glass of Grand Marnier Orange Slush in my hands!
