this comp is my favorite because that the compounds are so easy A to find. I do not know if there is a person in this forum which know also this mixture but would like to leave a discution on this subject.

Zinc/sulphur is more used in rocketry where it is known as "micrograin" propellant. The main disadvantage is that it is extremely heavy compared to other compounds used in rocketry. In general, the lower the molecular weight of the exhaust compounds, the better the rocket's performance.

See http://members.aol.com/ricnakk/history.html and http://www.nakka-rocketry.net/index.html for much more information on rockets.

Zinc/sulphur mixes are generally not used in fireworks (though variations on this composition are sometimes used as smoke mixes).

Cheers,

Paul.

Speaking of rockets, what do they look like? I was never able to identify them.

I looked in the glossary, but it's still vague. A picture would be helpful.

Regards,

Trav.

Jerome,

It has been a while since we've spoken! Anyways, thanks for the picture!

But, do you think you can show me a picture of what it looks like when it explodes in the air?

Thanks again!

Trav.

Trav,

the rocket shown in the photograph is not a fireworks rocket but is a "model rocket". There are many clubs of people who like to fire model rockets - some of them are very sophisticated and include video cameras to film the flight.

If you go here: http://www.firework-review.org.uk/infobank-rockets.htm there are photos and videos of fireworks rockets.

Paul.
