What a treat it was to be right on site at La Ronde - the experience was unbelievable, the show spectacular

Here are thumbnails of some of my images which you can see full size on my website at this link:

http://www.pbase.com/rachelita/finale2007

All the images which have the word 30D in its title were shot by myself with a Canon D30 and a wide angle 17-40 lens covered by a polarizer, and remote cable

All the images which have the word REBEL in its title were shot by Paul Marriott with my Canon Rebel 300D and a Canon 10-22 lens, without remote cable.

À l'an prochain!
Fred

Hi Rachel,

As Fred mentioned, I also very much appreciate your fine work in delivering your gorgeous photos and equally sharing them exquisitely with us.

Again, I very much hope that you will grace us with your work next season and for the years to come.

Well, this is definitely the first year that we've had so many photos in an entire competition. And look at the closing show; there is a total of 18 pics!

There will be more photos coming soon of England and Hong Kong, plus Rachel is going to give me some more for the displays that Steve Austin didn't attend! I'll get all of these up in the next few days.

There have been some particularly fantastic photos this year so I'd like to formally thank all of our photographers.

Paul.

Thanks Travis - for all your comments and encouragement and giving me a kick in the butt to get out there and shoot as many as I was able to, while not making me feel guilty for those that I missed hehehe

I loved the experience, I loved the enthusiasm of all of you, and I learned so much in the process, as much as regards the art of shooting fireworks as understanding what they are all about - there is just so much to know - just seeing the grounds and the setup before hand was quite impressive, to say the least

And of course, being right there at la Ronde, wow, what a finale, I mean what a great finale show for me, after having struggled with awful weather conditions, smog, wind, rain, a city covered with clouds, name it, we did have these conditions this year, and being less than close to the shows themselves

I will gladly continue next year and if there are any other fireworks during the year, I sure would love to do them - I did Hull at Casino Lac Leamy two years ago and that was pretty nice - I believe their competition is not over yet

now, how do I get one of those cards that Bob and Steve had hanging around their necks hehehehehehe

Have a great day you all, I got to go back to my real job

Rachel,

It was really no trouble at all; I'm very happy to know that I was of assistance in giving you the stimulation that you needed to attend whatever display you've seen this season.

I'm also very pleased that you witnessed the closing show and its vehement finale from La Ronde. I very much look forward to seeing your fine work next season while also conversing with you from time to time during the long wait.

And Paul did mention that you'll be sending him some additional photos from the displays that Steve didn't make it to, so I'm in high anticipation in seeing them, Rachel.

Twas a pleasure! The portfolio looks so vibrant!

Regards,

Trav.

I'll get to the photos as soon as I can - I have a lot of things to catch up on that have fallen behind due to the time I spent on the competition this year. There will also be more photos from Rogan Coles (of both England and Hong Kong). Rogan took the daytime setup pictures of the "Sun" that Pains used in their display.

Paul.
