The display begins with the sound of an airplane. We are at the Göteborg airport, where Ingrid meets her friend Jacques, who is from Montreal. Both converse in French. Ingrid’s voice sounds with a Swedish accent and Jacques’ voice is truely a Quebecker one. I am sorry for missing parts between brackets [ ]: they indicate my limits about the Swedish culture...

Ingrid : Bienvenue à Göteborg, Jacques.
Jacques : Merci. Je suis très heureux de te revoir, Ingrid.
Ingrid : Tu ne souffres pas trop du décallage horaire, j’espère?
Jacques : Non, non, je me sens très bien.
Ingrid : Parfait! Nous avons un horaire très chargé. Je vais te montrer Göteborg comme tu m’as montré Montréal l’été dernier. Commençons d’abord par le volet culturel. L’orchestre symphonique de Göteborg présente son concert extérieur annuel cet après-midi. Taxi! The [name] park, please, and turn on on music, will you?
Driver : Ok.

Then, the first segment starts with "Thank you for the Music" by ABBA. After this opening, Ingrid and Jacques are at the park and we hear birds.

Jacques : Ah! Cet endroit est magnifique et nous sommes à l’heure. Assoyons-nous ici.

Then, segments 2 to 4 with three classical musics of Tchaikovsky, Khachaturian and Ponchielli. Before the fifth segment, Ingrid and Jacques briefly discussed :

Ingrid : Allons maintenant au parc d’amusement Liseberg.
Jacques : C’est La Ronde de Göteborg, n’est-ce pas?
Ingrid : C’est exact. Oh! Regarde sur la scène principale : c’est [name] avec son groupe de musique folk.
Jacques : Écoutons-les un peu.

Following the fifth segment, Ingrid and Jacques are at Liseberg amusement park. They talk about roller coasters and we hear cry from people in rides. Then, they are going to go to a movie theater.

Ingrid : Tu as aimé le Balder? Ce sont les meilleures montagnes russes en bois au monde.
Jacques : C’était formidable! Mais tu sais, celles du Monstre de La Ronde sont les plus hautes et les plus rapides au Canada, en plus d’être les montagnes russes double voie en bois les plus hautes du monde.
Ingrid : Oui, je me souviens. C’était génial! Allons prendre une bouchée et relaxer au cinéma.
Jacques : Oui, en attendant de nous attaquer aux activités nocturnes.
Ingrid : Two tickets, please.

We hear the sound of the projector. Then, two segments with movie musics by Hans Zimmer. Between these two parts :

Jacques : Hum! Donne-moi un peu de pop-corn, s’il-te-plaît.
Ingrid : Chuuut!

Following Zimmer’s music, just before the 8th segment :

Jacques : Allons prendre un verre, écouter de la musique… Qu’est-ce que tu suggères?
Ingrid : Voici mon pub favori, the Blueberry. Il est sur [name of the street] Avenue, la principale artère commerciale de Göteborg.
Jacques : Oui, c’est un peu comme le boulevard Saint-Laurent à Montréal.

We hear the opening door, with a typical bell sound.

Jacques : Deux bières, s’il-vous-plaît!

We hear the sound of beer which is poured into glasses.

Ingrid : On dirait que le groupe se prépare à jouer. Aïe! Play something for our guest from Montreal!
Performer : One, two, three, four!

Then, the 8th and 9th segments with "Ballroom Blitz" by The Sweet and "Great Balls of Fire" by Jerry Lee Lewis follow. The soundtrack appropriately contains cry and applauses, recreating the atmosphere of a pub.

Jacques : À Göteborg, santé!

We hear the clinking between the glasses. The pub atmosphere continues with a voice introducing us to the 10th segment, "Listen to your heart" by Roxette. This is followed by the last dialogue, which is preceded by the sound of bell when they open the door and go out the pub.

Ingrid : Allons à la discothèque volante, un peu plus loin.

We hear the beat from the disco.

Jacques : Nous y voilà. Allons danser!
Ingrid : Ouiii! Jusqu’à demain matin!

Then, the last three segments bring us to the spectacular closing of the show.

Being a fanatic of rides, I want to add some comments regarding the Liseberg amusement park and roller coasters discussed in this narrative. The Balder is one of the four roller coasters of Liseberg park. Opening in 2003 for Liseberg’s 80th anniversary, it is themed around the Scandinavian god of Justice. Stating that the Balder is the world best wooden roller coaster, as Ingrid says, is of course subjective. But according to the 2004 Golden Tickets (a renowned list of award winners which is established by the journal Amusement Today), it is the 23th best wooden roller coaster in the world.

About Le Monstre, as Jacques says, it is truely the highest (39,9 m) and fastest (96 km/h) wooden roller coaster in Canada, and the highest double-track wooden roller coaster in the world. These figures are attested by the Roller Coaster Database.
