Exhibition VS display

Hi everyone,

An odd question popped in my mind today :

Before each show, Michel Lacroix (or the PA-of-the-week) delivers his safety speech, telling that "during the exhibition, it's possible that (yadda yadda)".

Is "exhibition" a more proper term for a fireworks show than "display" ?

As a French guy whose English ain't the primary language, "exhibition" refers for me to a static event, like a painting or a sculpture exhibition, unlike a fireworks display, which is pretty much a dynamic event.

Ah, the semantics, sometimes !

Side note : less than 2 weeks to go before China's display/exhibition !

		No, it should be display or "presentation". Exhibition is for static events, typically ones that last a period of time of more than a day. In French, I believe he says "spectacle" which I don't think is used for exhibitions! At least Michel corrected his "we are sorry of the inconvenience" to "we are sorry for the inconvenience" when talking about the possibility of smoke and debris. Paul.
