I had the pleasure to attend Macedo's show at the Les Grands Feux du Casino Lac Leamy in Gatineau last night - thanks to Alain Carbonneau for his hospitality. Macedo's is a Portuguese company and manufacturer that competed in Montreal in 2006 to great acclaim - hopefully they will compete again. Last night was their debut display in the Gatineau international competition (results will be announced on Saturday) and it was a thoroughly enjoyable display entitled "Lightning Dance". The soundtrack used was:

• Voa, Voa (Quinta do Bill)
• Paso Doble (Luis Cobos)
• Besindre Reel (Hévia)
• A Question of Honor (S. Brightman)
• Lusitana Paixão (Dulce Pontes)
• Sete Mares (Setima Legião)
• Earthjig Reprise (Lord of the Dance)

with the penultimate piece of music also used in the Montreal show in 2006.

A capacity crowd of around 20,000 were treated to perfect weather conditions and an excellent display. Word around the site was that this display stood a good chance of winning. The competition isn't over though - each team has to perform a five minute segment in the grand finale on Saturday which will count towards their final mark.

For forum members' enjoyment, I uploaded a video of the display in the usual place.

Paul.
