I need to know if any of you guys are interested or considering on going to this 15 minute display.

I'm trying to convince my family on going, but is it worth it to go all the way there to see a short little display on August 31st?

I really want to go, but sometimes I don't know....so skeptical.....

Then again, it would be nice to see a final display before the summer ends, even though it's only 15 minutes in duration.

My problem is, I don't know if they're going to close off Lorimier and Notre-Dame main streets, because this is where I watch the Mondial SAQ, as well as hundreds of thousands of otheres, not to mention other main streets, like Rene-Levesque and others. According to Enkil, the bridge will not be closed for the festivity, so I figure where I watch the Mondial SAQ, will not be closed as well. Plus I don't know if I'm going to La Ronde this weekend, so I don't know if I could watch it there.

Please send in your thoughts and opinions on the matter and please try to tell me some info on street closures. I know Frederick had told me and Enkil, but I need to be 100% clear.

Please reply soon and give me your comments.

Regards,

Trav.

I'll be there. I just spoke to the Mondial SAQ director, and she told me the show is a pyromusical of 20 minutes duration, designed by La Ronde's chief pyrotechnician, Paul Csukassy. The seats at La Ronde are open to everyone, not like during the competition. I don't know about any street closures.

i went to school today, suddenly my friend mention that theres pyjama this sunday i was like damn, how come u know that (but he didnt know there was fireworks hehe)

but apperently u have to wear a pyjama to have 50% off, now doesnt get lamer then that hein? hein!

anyways, yesturday night i felt crush saddened, absolutly dead, heartbroken cuz my cousine left after spending 1 month here, at least if she was here, i wouldnt feel bored in this damn house at least there would be some action, i cant believe i had so much laughs fun with her it was so kewl, but worst yet today school! well today i look around me and im like hrm i wonder how many ppl went to fireworks this year.. then i thought about montreal-fireworks and i wish u guys were there some how, all bunch of new ppl arugh, school sucks periode!

anyways, for sunday it looks to me im not going unless theres a last minute decision, well ill try to do something..

oh God, i have to wait 10 months! absolutly horrible

Ok, it looks like Paul is going, but Enkil is skeptical. I think I might go, you know me, I always change my mind! I think we should make the effort and go, it's probably the last display we'll ever see for the next 10 months!

I went back to school on Monday the 25th of August, WAY to early!! That sucked! The night before that, I thought about all the things that happened during the summer, especially the Mondial SAQ! I was telling Scypher, our new member in the forum, that a couple of weeks ago, I dreamt about next year's competition and that Spain was playing first to get the competition started and it was Pirotechnia Igual as the company for Spain, but when I woke up, I felt bad because the competition was over and I would have to wait 10 months for it's arrival again, plus it was to good to be true! Can't wait till next year!

This year was kinda fun during the competition because I got to meet and talk with you guys, which was a lot of fun because I get to compare my thoughts with fellow enthusiasts, however, the forum was much more lively during the competition, but you guys are still here.

Anyway, I might go to the display on Sunday because it looks like the display is 20 minutes long, not 15, according to Paul, so I might show up. Like Enkil, I might make a last minute decision.

I just need info on road closures.....otherwise, I'll probably have to go to La Ronde and get me a seat.

The weather seems okay, can't say it will be warm, only 21 or 22 degrees and cloudy periods and 20 to 30% chance of precipitation as the forecast says, so I strongly recommend that we dress appropriately and comfortably if we go because I anticipate that it will be a lot cooler during the evening hours.

Enkil, if you change your mind, let me know. Sigh...I really want to see it.

I'll try to convince my family to go because they're a little pessimistic on the matter, so, I'll try to encourage them as much as possible, I can be very pushy...hehehe.lol.

Please reply soon.

Trav!! dont let my decision infulence ure decision, if u want to go, GO, ure much closer to La Ronde

also, i just talked with my sister, her friends want to go this sunday (not for the event, but they didnt even know about it lamo) so if she goes with his boyfriend, then her boyfriend could bring his brother and then i might just go in La Ronde alone with his brother.. with my sister full friends, etc......... well its too good to be true, but shes pretty much 40% about it, then an hour after its 60%

last minutes decision is deffinitive..

I'm still encouraging my family to go.

I live all the way in the West Island, so it's about 25 minutes to Down Town, depending on traffic, so I don't know yet...

It looks like I will have a 70% chance of going.

Hopefully I can go.....

Enkil, I think we should take a chance and go see a final display for the summer, what do you think? Just dress warmly.

yes!!!! u very right, but i dont think any wants to go, i want to force my sister as much as i can, so i will be allowd to go with her, but if the bridge was closed i could have toke anyone here and see it, jeez this really sucks im about to explode

i wish i could do something

but Trav, what r u going to do? r u going to dress a pyjama, since i think u have to wear a pyjama to get 50% off... (if u want) ?

I don't think I will dress up in my pyjamas, since it will be on the cool side on Sunday, and I don't think anybody is in the mood to go spend the day at La Ronde in my family, due to the weather beeing cool, although I really wanted to. We were originally going to go to La Ronde this Sunday, but as soon as we saw a cool down coming, we became pessimistic. You see, if it were at least 25 or more degrees, my family would go to La Ronde without hesitation. We're like that, we love it hot, especially me. We are all very "weather related." Get my drift?

The only thing that's stopping me, besides the weather, from going is the road closures. I'm not sure if Lorimier is closed for the fireworks. If it is, I will go for sure.

I have to be honest, I really REALLY want to go, but it doesn't look like anybody wants to go to La Ronde for the day. I don't care how cold it is, I just want to see the display! I wish it would be warmer. If it was warm out, I probably would consider wearing pyjamas and get a nice 50% off!

Anyway, I'll try to make plans and go, regardless of weather. I hope my family reconsiders. I think it would be great to get half price if you dress up in your pyjamas, although you'll feel very rediculous!

I hope you're having better luck than I am, Enkil. Tell me what you think.

ok good news for now

my sister asked her boyfriend, he wants to go but hes gonna ask her brother, i should talk to him too

althro theres no way my whole family will go (basicly my mom and sister) since its cold (unsummer, u know? heh)

Meteomedia says 21 degrees, well? kinda cold but really like u said just dressing but warm will alright, i guess,
yeah ure right i should really dress very warm, i remember in England's fireworks when it started to rain, i was freazing as hell and shaking, but i would do it for the fireworks

it would really be kewl if all of u went there, it seriously would, we could even give our lil report lol

anyways no garanties, this is killing i really want to go grrrrrrrrrrr, 20min would be sweeeeeeeeet

Yes, I remember the England display very well. I was trembling under my umbrella and trying to stop it from flying away with the wind!

You do know that it would have worked out perfectly for them if the show had started at 10:00 to 10:30, but it was for the best anyways, due to the wind beeing absurdly dangerous for the fireworks at that time! I actually was thinking that this might be the first show that has ever been cancelled in the competition's history! If it wasn't for the wind beeing so tremendously gusty, it would have worked out and they would have been spared from the rain, which fell just after 10:30.

There wasn't any rain at all during the 10:00-10:30 period, maybe just a little tiny drizzle, but otherwise, nothing but the powerful winds.

I felt kind of bad for Paul because it was his 100th display that he was going to see, and it was the country he was from! That must have sucked! That was probably my 115th to 120th display, I'm estimating since 1990. I go way back!

Anyway, I'm still not sure if I'm going to the pyjama fireworks display just yet.

Enkil, if you gather enough people who are showing some enthusiasm on going, head off with them and go enjoy the show!

I think I have a greater distance to travel than you do, how long does it take you to get there from Laval, anyway? I live in Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, in the West-Island, so I figure it must be 25 minutes for me to get there, depending on traffic.

the possibily of me going looks good, i asked my sister this morning she said yeah, but no 1 has made any decision, but im afraid if i ask her again she will scream lol, but anything can change at anytime here

me to go from Laval to La Ronde by car would take exactly 30min its very long, takes alot of gas if u go to every disply, but thankfully theres metero, but if i go this sunday ill go with a car

but if me and Paul r going only, than u must come too, i mean, i dont want us to be the only ones here, i think u should try to do something, or at least be around La Ronde

anyways, again i hope ill make it

I really don't know still, my parents are undecided, but I know some of my family are interested on going. I'm trying to convince my parents to go.

You should here me, like a 6 year old, "I really really really really want to go!!!" lol

Anyway, so I don't know yet.

BTW, do you guys know what time it starts? I remember someone telling me here, but I forget.

I don't think Lorimier will be closed fot this festivity, er.......... I wish tomorrow was 30 degrees! Then i will go for sure! If Lorimier is open, I will also go for sure.

Anyway, if I don't get to go, tell me all about it.

And please tell me what time it starts, so I'll know how to make arrangements! Thx.

BTW, Paul, I think I'll be WAY to shy to meet you face to face, but if I could, you can probably give me a lecture on the names of fireworks.
