Pyro Spectaculars by Souza won the pyromusical competition held in Sherbrooke. This national fireworks competition turned to a North American one this year, with Souza from the USA.

Souza will perform the off-competition closing show in the Montreal International Fireworks Competition this year.

I was there for the closing show last night - once again an excellent show by Royal. The Souza crew were very happy to win and noted that they were lucky with the weather for their show. Last night's show also suffered to some extent with smoke accumulation due to lack of wind - though it added to the atmosphere of the show as it was a "Club" theme with a dance-based soundtrack by MC Mario ... and the use of bright disco lights on their equivalent of ramps 2 and 3 - the smoke actually made this more effective!

I was a bit surprised to read this, though:

"«Puisque nous sommes la seule entreprise des États-Unis à avoir fait la compétition, c'est d'autant plus important pour nous. C'est un sentiment spécial de remporter ce prix», raconte, satisfait, Paul Souza."

Atlas Pyrovision Productions, also based in the US, competed in Sherbrooke and fired their display on Wednesday!

Good point, Paul.

The article has been written by someone who does an internship, according to the author's Linkedin page.
