Hi Enkil, long time no see....er...hear!
I think it will be wonderful to go to see the display of the pyjama fireworks. However, I don't know if it will be a good idea to dress up in pyjamas to spend the day at La Ronde, although it can get you a great discount of 50%. The primary reason is due to the fact that the weather will not be cooperating next weekend. So far in the long range, for next Saturday, the forecast is calling for a high of ONLY 11 degrees celcius, yes, 11 degrees in August, and followed by a 40% chance of precipitation. My prediction for Sunday, the 31st, doesn't look like it will be any different.
Now, let's not come to any conclusions just yet. This forecast can very well change, as most of the time it does. However, if it changes for the better, I don't see how it will be that much better than 11 degrees, even if they increase it by an additional 5 degrees, which gives you only 16 degrees, which is not that comfortable, if you know what I'm saying.
My point is that it will be way to cold to dress in pyjamas, providing you can also bring a warm jacket.
This weather is rediculous, from straight summer temperatures to mid October temperatures, and I really dislike the months from late September all the way to mid April!! Fall and winter can't wait to get here! Summer finishes till September 21st, jeeze!!
Anyhow, I don't think I will be going to La Ronde next week, unless by some miracle, the temperature hits in the mid twenty's, or low twentys at least.
For the fireworks, I might attend, but I would have prefered to watch it at La Ronde, because I'm not sure about my spot where I watch the Mondial SAQ, at Lorimier and Notre-Dame intersection, I don't know if it will be different there.
Like you, I really want to go, but sometimes I think I shouldn't go, but, I really want to, to be honest with you. It would be nice to see one more display before the summer comes to an end.
So, don't know yet. If the weather looks good, I will definetely go, but if not........well you know.
As a final note, I think we should ask people, like relatives and friends to see if they want to go. I'll try to ask Paul for his opinion on the matter as well. So, we should try to ask others if there interested and yes, to keep an eye on the weather before we make a move. I'll try to give you occasional weather updates.
BTW, tell me if you change your mind.
Anyway, good to hear from you again, Enkil. Keep in touch.
Reply soon.
See ya!!!!!!!!
Trav.
