Wishing everyone a very happy new year and all of the best for 2011. I hope that the fireworks taking place tonight at the Old Port will be thoroughly enjoyed to bring in the new year! If not in attendance, then be sure to tune in on CNN or another news network to catch the celebrations and fireworks displays taking place all over the world – as always, the display put on by Foti in Sydney, Australia for the occasion was spectacular:

I just wish that I could have seen it live, especially since it is Summer there!
If you’ve any plans for New Year’s Day, as I’m sure you will, the weather is looking to be mostly comfortable, albeit unsettled, as temperatures are well above seasonal. More details are provided here:

Now that the anticipation has officially concluded, we must now endure January - this month is so...well, you know. Luckily, the weather is mild to start off the month, and though temperatures are dropping, they are not expected to attain bitterly cold standards. Other than the weather, it is also a possibility that we
may see the new Montreal fireworks schedule revealed (at least in terms of the competing countries) this month, something that has not occurred in what is going to be seven years. As we eagerly await the 2011 entrants, this may also help to boost the spirit a little:

And a toast to the New Year:
Best wishes,
