This reminds me of Italy in 1994, when we took for granted a 30% chance of heavy thunderstorm, and surprise surprise, it came, right before the display. Lots of thunder and lightning and one heck of a lot rain. So much rain that you couldn't see in front of you.
I remeber it so well. I literally looked like I took a shower!

Anyways, Enkil, if you and I see rain coming, make sure you've got a place to take shelter. I've probably got to go under the bridge! Be careful up there! I don't think there's anywhere to run on the bridge! Just make sure you bring lots of umbreallas. That's what I'm doing! I took a glimpse at Ottawa's weather and they're reporting light rain showers and thunder with a cool 20 degrees. Eeek!

Hopefully, it will hold off until after I make it to the car after the display. For some odd reason, I still feel that I shouldn't trust this weather. I've still got that feeling........

Yep...turned out to be an awesome weather night. Just a quick sprinkle in the 8PM timeframe that barely lasted 5 minutes.

Even my long drive home was rather devoid of heavy rain, just the occasional quick shower.

My new thing to hate in Montreal...construction. :sigh:

Spent over 90 minutes trying to get through A-20, through a portion that was closed, but I for the life of me couldn't see any reason why...

Finally drove down back roads (glad to have brought the map) to get around it.

It appears that Sunny International could also be threated by showers and thunderstorms.

The forecast for this Saturday is calling for thundershowers, followed by a 60% chance of precipitation. The winds will be light at 10 km/h coming from the North. Humidity and dewpoint levels will be high, once again, which should give some descent humidex values. As for the temperature, it will be humid with high of 25, or more, degrees. I wouldn't be surprised if it felt like more than that.

The good news is that we still don't know the evening forecast, yet. Lets hope all this changes.

Once again, the threat of rain is there. We could still get lucky, like last time, and end up having a good day!

The chances have gone down to 30%, leaving it as a risk of thunderstorms, instead of just straight thundershowers. Everything else is the same. Plus, the threat may die off by the evening! Good news!

The Weather Network still says 30% chance of thundershowers in the afternoon. However, I suspect that nothing will happen! the threat may die off during the evening!

anyways, China will be good, i dunno if u heard Smoke, before 10pm last Wednesday, Eric Dodlin on Cite 107.3 said that China will have alot of fireworks (materials) something like that, anyhow he sounded as if it will be good

unfortunatly, this might be the last competitor im going to be seeing, i believe next week, im going to Niagara Falls, with my family, ill try to convince them not to go during Wednesday

then, next weekend, we'll be going to Boston, to meet a family member there, theres no way he can take a day off during weekdays



im sure im going to miss the winner of this year, and im sure its either China, France or Germeny! the last ones always wins!

I saw the forecast for this evening and it's very good! It's calling for a 20% chance of precip. and very warm and humid temperatures, followed by variable clouds. A really perfect evening for the Sunny International team. The temperature will hover around 24 to possibly 26 or 27 degrees this evening. The humidity will be high at 61%, not to mention the dewpoints. As a result of these two factors, the humidex values will be in the 30+ degree range area, making it really nice. I love it when it's hot and humid, especially on nights!

Anyways, I think I did here someone say something about China's display on a radio next to me, last time. I hope it will be good! They're usually good, when I saw them in previous years. They'll probably be even better this year!

As for you missing the rest of the competition, that's a real shame! Out of all times! I feel bad that you won't be here for the climax of the 20th anniversary! It's something you don't want to miss. Well, if that's the case, I'll try to inform you as much as I can. And who knows, things could change!

Anyways, are you still coming on De Lorimier and Notre-Dame, tonight?

And BTW, my birthday happens to be on Wednesday, and it looks like France is playing on that day.....the 21st of July! A big treat for me, especially on the 20th anniversary of the competition! Also, it's kinda special for me because I'm turning 20! And plus, it's going to be sizzling hot! A high of 30 degrees or more! Pretty cool, heh?

yup im going tonight at ure place

as i said we just went on the bridge last Wednesday for my aunt to see the view, unfortunatly she forgot to bring her camera to take picture of downtown, but theres im not going back there!

u know, last Wednesday, we ure very near from ure place, we walked alot, there wasnt alot of ppl becuz of the weather i can say i saw everything from the lower parts, but its impossible to find that place, cuz its taken very quickly, so u have to come very early

despite all these facts, i find ure place much better, cuz its closer the closer the better!

And just to make sure everything is good, could you give me an update on what Environment Canada is saying? I know the weather Network is still saying the same, which is good. 20% probability of precipitation, with high humidity, roughly 61%, with variable clouds. The winds should be light in nature coming from the Northeast at 10-15 km/h. The big thing is the humidity.

I'm even surprised that nothing happened last time, despite all the weather threats for Holland!

sure they say a risk of a thunderstorm, but 90% of the time nothing happens, so theres nothing to worry about
meteorologists always say the worst thing that could happen, and many ppl fall for it

In summary, a very lovely evening. You really can't ask for more.

BTW, Enkil, sometimes you can try out the view at the steel gate all the way up front on Notre-Dame. That's probably the closest and nicest view. The only problem is that you'll have to go early because people take those spots rather quickly. I used to go there back in 2000 and before, back to 1990. Since 2001, I've been standing on De Lorimier and Notre-Dame intersection.

It appears that the thunderstorm came, after all. It was only a 30% chance and it just happened! Did you hear those thunder booms! I don't know if it was in your area, though.

I hope that the energy isn't still there to give the lift needed for another storm! It was pretty strong! I wouldn't take out the possibility.

Now, the bad news is that there's now the risk of thunderstorms this evening and the risk has gone up to 30%! Damn! Well, if it happened this afternoonm it can happen again! I hope not! From what I hear in the press release, it's going to be huge!
