hello,lately I had a small ordering of gunpowder but is asks me the question which lasted of life of this powder?

I found what I sought but I am not sour. the black powder can last ten year if it is kept with dryness.but is what which does that the its one lifespan. is this solubility of the kno3?
because the black powder is a natural explosive the compound is in nature.how its may be ?
