Again this year, we will have an opportunity to enjoy fireworks in the Old Port in December. But there is a major improvement this year: four displays rather than one, for sure because the event has now a sponsor (Telus). These 20-minute shows will be launched at 7:30pm on Saturdays December 3th, 10th, 17th and 24th. Imagine: a firework for Christmas Eve!!!

I suspect that the same display will be produced four times. I don't know which company will produce this year. In December 2004, Royal Pyrotechnie has produced the show. You can read my review ot it in this forum (in French):

Fred,

I might consider going there on December 24th.

Could you tell me on which street the ramps are located or from where do you recommend me to watch it? Where's the patinoire?

Here's a few pictures that may help you I think:

Hi Fred,

My question is pretty much what Enkil said, but just to add, do you know where the closest metro station is to the Old Port? I checked the maps Enkil posted, but they all seem a good distance. I, too, might consider going that day. If not then, then for sure the prior date.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, Fred, I was so busy, but I read the topic the day you posted it! Thanks for the news.

Fireworks still live in our hearts, even in the depths of Winter.

Best regards,

Trav.

It's a very good news to have four different shows! It is going to be a small firework festival and an opportunity to discuss more in this forum!

The closest metro station is Champ-de-Mars. Walk on Gosford, then turn right on Notre-Dame and left on Place Jacques-Cartier. Across de la Commune, you will be in front of the Old Port ("Entrée Jacques-Cartier" on the map). Walk on the Promenade du Vieux-Port and just before the Labyrinthe (hangar 16), turn right and go near the Pavillon Bonsecours and the place for ice skating. You will have the best spot and will be very close to the firework. It is important to go close enough because the sound system is not as powerful as La Ronde's one.

Fred,

thanks for the information about this series of displays. The first one (on this coming Saturday 3rd December) will be presented by Royal Pyrotechnie.

I don't know the order of the remaining displays.

Paul.

Thanks, anonymous.

I should most likely be able to see the one on the 17th, I believe.

Really, it's so much more exciting to also have fireworks displays around the holidays.

Trav.
