Hi Pierre,
You're most certainly correct about the relative elapsed time since the end of this year's competition; it's astonishing in knowing that we're already practically half-way there (I find myself saying the same thing like last year

).
I was actually going to comment on the fact that IPON (or Italy, in this respect) did not show up again like you've been wanting so much for nearly 3 years now. I feel sort of bad because you've been so patient since July 3rd, 2004. However, you can be sure that we may see some incredible finales from the participants this year, perhaps even more vehement than IPON 2004 altogether.

I'm quite happy, though, that Spain is kicking off things and may inevitably start the show with a dramatic introduction. You're also right about the general prowess of the Spanish-type displays as they typically know how to excite an audience altogether. The multiple crescendo attempts always seem to do it justice in integration with the vibrant traditional colors and deafening salute-shell combinations that make the ideal dancing rhythmic harmony. It's curious to know the firm(s) participating, though.
The general appearance of the new schedule is always a time for anticipation, although I must admit that we haven't gotten the chance to make predictions in the last 2 years to sort of take educated guesses on who might show up or not; making predictions always makes things as equally interesting, but it appears as if the schedules appear increasingly earlier as the years go. Nevertheless, it looks as if though we can still do just that in predicting the possible
firms representing each country.
These are personal initial predictions, well, until I finish squandering firms here and there:
-Spain-Pirotecnia Igual
-England-Kimbolton Fireworks (a fair assumption)
-Mexico-...your guess is as good as mine on this one, I'm afraid.
-Hong Kong-Sunny International; could also very well be Pyromagic Productions.
-United States-Atlas PyroVision Productions
-Canada-Ampleman Pyrotechnie (of course, there are certainly other choices assuming, however, the rumors about a firm
outside of Quebec are in fact true).
-France-Groupe F
-Germany-Weco Pyrotechnische Fabrik (Enkil and I thought this would be similar to 2004 as Germany is last to close again; ideally being superstitious).
My personal comments reflected upon the new schedule, besides its awkward positioning and the lack of one participant (which occurred last back in 2002), are relatively positive since Mexico, for one, is returning after quite the time gap while Spain, the U.S and other favorites are there as well.
Let's also hope that we'll get a good year in terms of the weather, too, although I'm simultaneously hoping for another active thunderstorm season; I've actually recorded about 44 thunderstorms that I have witnessed this season, including some of which were outside of Montreal. In any case, let's hope for no rain, more specifically heavy rain, during or just prior to the display (or during setting up days) execution altogether. But, of course, I'll be sure to keep tabs on that ordeal as the time nears.
Oh yes, I can't believe I forgot to mention that there is a display on my birthday (like you this year) and, again, it's France presenting that night.

The last time my birthday fell on a display was in 2004 (with France) while last year, it fell on the day after Portugal's performance, so I ultimately treated that as an early birthday gift.

This year, on the other hand, I had a gorgeous thunderstorm (and quite a development), ironically enough, just before and occurring on the midnight hour of my birthday, which was both quite the treat/pleasure and quite the intimidating/thrilling coincidence, mind you.
And I'm very appreciative of your extensive email, which you just recently sent to me. I will be sure to send you another fully-fledged reply within the next few days; incidentally when my exams come to a definite conclusion.
Fred,
Thank you very much for the update in the schedule. I suppose I can let out a sigh of relief knowing that there
is a Panzera closing display.
Paul,
I actually forgot to mention that noticeable little gap between the second Wednesday and the following Saturday on the 7th of July, but it will certainly feel a tad strange not seeing a performance for over a week.
The 9 display formation shouldn't seem too devious in its entirety since it was typically standardized in this fashion on and off in the 90s, particularly in the late 90s and, as Fred and I said, making another latter appearance in 2002. I suppose our surprised attitudes are solely derived from a mere matter of distinct perception and our additional acquaintance with the typical 10 display outlook that we're so very used to for the past 4 years.
As for the schedule, well, it may seem a little vaguely configurated, but I do recall years, like 2001, where it started off similarly while other subsequent years commenced quite strangely in dates as well.
***Now, does anyone else have any predictions on the possible firms? This actually makes an ideal and provoking discussion!
Regards,
Trav.
