The deadline has been extended, at my request, until 15th September. I was having a problem uploading "burned" shows for the contest.

By the way, the PyroScreenSaver application, which is free, can display the contest shows, and others on the pyroinfinity website. I'm going to put up some more information on my Competitions page very soon. In the meantime, follow the link to pyroinfinity from that page, download the screensaver and some shows and see what you think.

Oh, that's great news, Paul! I was wondering what ever happened to that contest and if there were any participants.

So, till September 15th, I'm still thinking about joining this contest.

Anyway, before that, like Enkil asked, do you think it will be possible for us to see some screenshots and see how they turned out?

BTW, Paul, do you know of any good screensaver fireworks pictures I can put up on my PC? Do you know a good web site?

Please reply soon. Thx.

Trav.

The La Ronde site used to have pictures (taken by my friend and resident montreal-fireworks.com photographer Robert Burch) that could be downloaded as background pictures. They don't seem to be there anymore though. Other than that, I don't really know of any sites which would have large enough pictures for what you want. You might have noticed that all the full-sized pictures on this site cannot be saved - this is because of copyright.

As for the virtual contest, I'll put up some screen shots in the next few days on the Competitions page.

It's ok, Paul.

I'm still going through some other web sites that have some pictures of the Mondial SAQ. I found some preety neat ones, but what I'm trying to look for is a picture with lots of different varieties of fireworks that are scattered all over the place, plus I want something that has a lot of colur. This way, it will be nice and bright on my desktop and it contrast in my room with the different colours!

I'm still looking around for some samples, but I can't seem to get what I need, but there were some neat ones. Like you said, the pictures on this web site cannot be saved do to copyright, but that's ok.

If I find some nice pics for my desktop, I'll post the web site so you guys can take a look and tell me what you think.

BTW, don't forget to show us some screenshots of the virtual contest. Thx.

BYEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

OK, I've put up four screenshots from one of my shows. Go to the Competitions page in the main menu.

Looks pretty good, Paul.

I wish I could participate too, but like Enkil, I don't think I have the requirements needed.

At least we get to see some of your sample shots, which look pretty neat and cool!

BTW, I have a question.

What do "mines" look like? How will I be able to identify them?

Yeah, I know, a video would also be nice.

Is that possible, Paul?

No, it's not possible, sorry You'll only be able to see the shows with the PyroPlayer or PyroScreensaver programs.

As for mines, they shoot stars up from the ground and, because of this, are sometimes called volcanoes

That's ok.

As long as we get to see some of your screen shots, that's fine.

Thx for the info on the mines.

BTW, do you know where I can get info on all different types of fireworks and there descriptions on what they look like?

Once again, thx.

Oh yeah, one more thing, is it ok if I have your E-Mail address? Just in case of anything that happens to this site, I can contact you.

Here's my E-Mail: travis2@videotron.ca

Thanks a lot!

It's on the links page: webmaster@montreal-fireworks.com - if that doesn't work for some reason (like the site is down) then try pyropaul99@yahoo.com (that's also my Yahoo IM name too).
