Still recovering from my trip to Valencia and I will write a report soon.

In the meantime, checkout the videos of the displays that have been put up by a group of Dutch pyro enthusiasts:

http://www.freakpyromaniacs.com/movies03symposium.htm

The mascleta (video clip number 37) was stunning and is worth the 67Mbyte download.

There's also some setup pictures on the freakpyromaniacs forum but registration is required. Some copies of these pictures can also be found on the feuerwerk-forum (see link at the side) under the "feuerwerk und events (gallery)" thread.

Yes, indeed, Tony.

You should try to take a look at that site for some video clips on the mondial SAQ! It really is top notch here in Montreal! You might especially want to take a look at the Panzera finale! That will inevitably blow you away! Believe me, you're going to want to download that particular one!

If possible, you should try to come during the competition next year in mid June to end of July, since it's going to be the 20th anniversary of the whole thing! So I think you'll be in for a nice treat!

Mondial SAQ rules!

Cheers,

Trav.

Oh, that's ok.......But still, things can change from now until then, I mean that's around 8 months from now or actually, exactly 8 months now! If you do change your mind, please come!

Anyway, I think next year's competition is going to be a little different because of the 20th anniversary situation. Only Gold Jupiter winners will be selected and rumour has it that there will be 2 Spanish, that's right, TWO Spanish companies. Most likely Pirotechnia Caballer or Pirotechnia Igual as one of the two, if rumours are true.

To tell you the truth, I'm a huge fan of Spain and I go crazy about their displays, not to mention that they usually leave people stunned after a spectacular finale! I think they're great! Pirotechnia Caballer and Igual are excellent companies for Spain and there is a very good chance of the two playing next year! I'd say 99.9999% chance of showing up!

I really hope so because in 2001, Pirotechnia Igual did a fantastic job throughout and they did one of the best finales I've ever seen since 1990(that's when I started watching the competition!).

Well anyway, I'll be quite now.

Well I guess you could say that fireworks is one my greatest passions, just like everyone else here!

See ya!

Finally I've uploaded my conference paper and, good news for all the pyrofreaks here, three video clips that I used in my presentation. For lovers of Italian finales, I have most of IPON's finale from 2000 in high quality mpeg. Go to the main Information page on this site and then hit Symposium from the left menu or just go straight to:

http://www.montreal-fireworks.com/symposium.html

Enjoy!

Yes Tony, I really think that you should watch those links that Enkil just posted. I downloaded them all a couple of months ago, back in the beginning of August, and they're just superbe! There all from the Mondial SAQ at Montreal, 2003. I actually encourage you to watch them, especially, like Enkil said, the grand Panzera finale! That will get you going! Believe me, it's worth it!

So, if you can, enjoy and tell us what you think!

Forgot to mention, these links, I think, can be easily downloaded in any media player, so it shouldn't be hard to view. I watched them all in Quick Time and Real One Player formats.

So, Enjoy!
