Montréal, Thursday, December 3, 2009 – As part of the world’s leading
annual fireworks competition, L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented
by TELUS will honour Céline Dion in its inaugural edition of Feu des étoiles, a
spectacular pyrotechnical show designed to pay tribute to the brightest stars
and their work.
On July 10, 2010, mid-way through the competition, La Ronde and
L’International will offer Céline Dion and her fans a 30-minute fireworks display
set to her greatest hits, both in French and English. The show will feature
highlights from the Quebec star’s exceptional career, just months short of its
30th anniversary. An estimated 300,000 people in Montréal are expected to
attend as the singer’s unique voice fills the air and magnificent bursts of colour
light up the evening sky.
In addition to Feu des étoiles, starting on June 12, L’International des Feux
Loto-Québec presented by TELUS will present shows on consecutive
Saturdays featuring the eight countries taking part in the 2010 competition as
well as the Jupiter Awards ceremony followed by a ten-minute fireworks
display.
For the first time ever, Poland will be part of the competition in 2010. The other
participants will be France, Sweden, Italy, Portugal, Taiwan/China, the United
States, and Canada. The names of the companies representing these
countries will be announced later.
Fireworks fans are invited to get their tickets now for what promises to be an
outstanding competition. As a new feature this year, tickets are $5 off if
purchased in pre-sale up to 14 days before each pyro-musical show. A great
