For immediate release

Last competitor up at L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS
France makes our planet appear in the sky!

Montréal, Wednesday, August 4, 2010 – On Saturday, the French firm BRÉZAC Artifices will celebrate our planet with a grand spectacle titled “Notre Terre” at La Ronde as part of L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS. This will be the final show in this year’s competition, and the Jupiter Awards ceremony will be held a week later on August 14.

In 2006, in its third participation at the International Fireworks Competition, BRÉZAC left Montréal with one of the contest’s coveted prizes, the Silver Jupiter.

Going for gold this time, designers Francesco Ambrico and Dominique Brézac have pulled all the stops. They carefully analyzed all the fireworks displays presented at La Ronde in 2009 and spent almost a year developing a show built mainly around new and original music by Régis Peters. The show touches on such planetary themes as the elements, humours and seasons, before closing with a gilt-edged finale over 4 minutes long! Also featured is a gigantic balloon – 2.5 metres in diameter – representing the Earth!

A list of the 17 songs from the show’s soundtrack is available at L’International’s web site at (www.internationaldesfeuxlotoquebec.com). Also available on the site are the latest “Fireworks Confessions.”

Göteborgs Fyrverkeri Fabrik Official Press Release

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Sweden at L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS this week

A DJ takes over the fireworks launch controller!

Montréal, Wednesday, July 28, 2010 – This Saturday at La Ronde, a Swedish disc jockey will take over the fireworks launch controller and stage over three decades of worldwide dance hits in the skies above Montreal.

With music from Donna Summer and Kate Ryan, from Shakira and the late great Michael Jackson – and without forgetting his own country’s famed group, ABBA – the DJ vows to put on a dazzling sound and light show as part of L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS. What’s more, he has a huge surprise up his sleeve for the iconic “YMCA” by the Village People!

In the 1980s and early 90s, DJing was Martin Hilderberg’s sole career until he and a partner set up Göteborgs FyrverkeriFabrik (GFF), giving him the opportunity to indulge both his passions: music and fireworks. It comes as no surprise that this combination has enabled the company to win an array of awards at pyromusical competitions in Europe, starting with the national fireworks contest at Norrköping in the land of the Nobel Prize, where GFF is the champion eight years running! In 2001, 2007 and 2009, GFF won gold at the prestigious fireworks festival in Knokke in Belgium.

This is only the third time that Sweden appears at L’International. GFF’s first participation goes back to 2005. They say they learned a lot about the site on that occasion and are now set to put on a stunning show at Lac des Dauphins.

A list of the 20 songs from the show’s soundtrack is available at L’International’s web site at (www.internationaldesfeuxlotoquebec.com). Also available on the site are the latest “Fireworks Confessions.”

Fireworks Spectaculars Canada official Press Release

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Press release

For immediate distribution

This week, Canada competes at L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS

From the Calgary Stampede to La Ronde!

Montréal, Wednesday, July 21, 2010 – The company that has provided the fireworks for the Calgary Stampede for the past six years is coming to La Ronde this week and is determined to lasso a Jupiter Award as part of L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS!

Brad Dezotell, the show’s designer and owner of Fireworks Spectaculars Canada (FSC), admits that this would be the perfect moment for his company – which he founded in 2002 and has been galloping ahead since – to corral the most prestigious fireworks prize in the world.

FSC, which took part in L’International for the first time in 2007, is a four-time winner of the Canadian national fireworks competition held as part of the Lac des Nations Festival in Sherbrooke and a two-time winner of the Globalfest International Fireworks Competition held annually in Calgary.

Its show, titled “Heroes,” is a tribute to the real-life heroes who are present in our daily lives. Among its musical selections, “Titans” by Vangelis is a salute to the men and women in the military, while “Show me Your Firetruck” honours firefighters. And, of course, Henry Mancini’s famous “Pink Panther” tune pays tribute to the police. The show’s musical selections, which are 100% instrumental, allows for this sort of thematic association and “works better,” according to its designer.

A list of the 13 songs from the show’s soundtrack is available at L’International’s web site at (www.internationaldesfeuxlotoquebec.com). Also available on the site are the latest “Fireworks Confessions.”

Western Enterprises Official Press Release

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Press release  For immediate distribution

The United States is up this week at L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS

The creator of the fireworks shows for the  Olympics in L.A. and Atlanta is at La Ronde!

Montréal, Wednesday 14, 2010 – Gary Caimano, the designer of the fireworks for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles and Atlanta, is at La Ronde this week to dazzle Montrealers as part of L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS. For U.S.-based competitor Western Enterprises, Mr.  Caimano has created a show on the theme of love that brings together Barbra Streisand, James Taylor, Andrea Bocelli, and The Who.

The show, whose title “Love Reigns Over Us” is taken from a song by the legendary British band (“Love, Reign o’er Me”), promises to be a magnificent spectacle. In 2008, Western Enterprises won the “Trophée Spécial 400e ” at  Grands Feux Loto-Québec. This is the company’s very first participation at L’International where it hopes to capture a prestigious Jupiter Award.

Western was founded in 1946 by the father of its current president, Jim Burnett. Like many companies in its field, it is a family-run business and remains so to this day with a third generation now taking part in its  operations. The company is based in Oklahoma and manufactures its own products, which are exported as far as Japan. In fact, for the most part, Saturday’s show will be made up of Western’s own “home-grown” products.

A list of the 12 songs from the show’s soundtrack is available at L’International’s web site at www.internationaldesfeuxlotoquebec.com – also available on the site are the latest “Fireworks Confessions.”

Fiatlux/Ampleman official press release

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Press Release

For immediate release

This Saturday, the first ever “Feu des étoiles” at L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS

An immense tribute to Céline Dion as she prepares to celebrate 30 years of success!

A 100-metre replica of the Titanic on hand at Lac des Dauphins to mark this unique occasion

Montréal, Wednesday, July 7, 2010 – Over 300,000 spectators, thousands of fireworks shells, twenty-three megahits and, even, a 100-metre replica of the Titanic – all stops have been pulled at La Ronde to celebrate the music and exceptional career of the one and only Céline Dion. It’s all part of the first ever “Feu des étoiles” by L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS, an impressive annual addition to the world’s most prestigious pyromusical competition.

Starting at 10 PM of July 10, spectators can enjoy nearly 30 years of music hits by Céline Dion, all the way from “Ce n’était qu’un rêve” to “Ne partez pas sans moi” and including “My Heart Will Go On,” “All by Myself” and “L’amour existe encore.” The show features six different themes that chart the singer’s stellar career: “Et que ça bouge!,” “Au cinéma,” “Jeunesse et innocence,” “… Et Goldman,” “Diva à Vegas” and, finally, “Intense et universelle.” The team at L’International et La Ronde made the musical selections and designed the show.

Groupe Fiatlux-Ampleman, a new firm resulting from the recent merger of two major Quebec companies, is the delegate producer for the show’s fireworks component. Together, these two companies have taken part in almost 20 competitions at L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS, winning a total of 4 Jupiters. Groupe Fiatlux-Ampleman also made a name for itself at the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver by putting on colourful fireworks shows on 17 evenings. According to Éric Cardinal, the designer of “Feu des étoiles,” Céline Dion’s songs – which are vibrant and high-energy – are perfect for a fireworks show. “Feu des étoiles,” he says, “provides us with a range of possibilities and pyrotechnical effects. With this vigorous and lively music, we can produce vigorous and lively fireworks.”

A list of the 23 songs from the show’s soundtrack is available at L’International’s web site at (www.internationaldesfeuxlotoquebec.com). Also on the site are the latest “Fireworks Confessions.”

San Tai official press release

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

News Release

For immediate release

Saturday night at L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS:
A show about respecting the environment, with innovative biodegradable fireworks!

Montreal, Thursday, June 17, 2010—One of the largest Taiwanese producers of fireworks is coming to La Ronde Saturday to raise public awareness about the environment and will be using biodegradable components in its fireworks to put its message into action.

San Tai Pyrotechnics is taking advantage of its participation in L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS to publicize that it will be using innovative components. The shells of some of the pyrotechnical devices are being made of recycled paper and cornstarch so that they break down in the rain and are absorbed into the earth where they fall and act as fertilizer. San Tai is also reaffirming its willingness to keep working on developing products that are environmentally-friendly.

Last year, La Ronde announced the addition of a special mention award from L’International management for the participant that distinguishes itself through its environmental initiatives and the development of green technologies. The Australian company Foti International won the first such award.

The first time it was in Montreal (2001), San Tai won the Bronze Jupiter for Taiwan.

Designed specifically around the music of the film Avatar, Céline Dion and the late Michael Jackson, the various displays of the “D’accord” show will quickly transport spectators from the dawn of time to the Last Judgment and then awakening and rebirth, San Tai designers promise. The audience will also hear an excerpt with Tibetan singing bowls, a very special sound that Tibetan monks especially appreciate for its peacefulness. Images of fish, cats and even Dora the Explorer (a first!) will be recreated using fireworks.

Internet visitors will find an excerpt of an interview with a San Tai representative on the website (http://www.internationaldesfeuxlotoquebec.com/en/default.aspx). The names of the musical pieces that will play at La Ronde are also available there.
